Almost perfect concept

It is the year 4499. The “elected president for life (he never dies because the technology has advanced to stop death…only the super rich can afford it)” has somehow managed to transform the United States into a surreal, high tech utopia where literally EVERYTHING is perfect. There’s no crime, no poverty, no hardship, and everyone is kind to each other without fail. But one day, the main character finds out that their entire paradise is an illusion, created by implants that people are given at birth. These implants cause people to see the world just as it should be…literally, and makes them more docile, almost giving everyone the same sickly sweet personality. Even the president is not what he seems to be. One character from the “real” world might have to work with a character from the “perfect” world to free everyone of this prison disguised as a paradise.
