Pulling the hat farther down
Trying to not look at me
To see the way I frown
At the camouflage uniform she’s wearing
She doesn’t need me to say it
To speak my fears,
Feel my tears
As she will be forced to look in the mirror
Everyday afterwards
And wonder why she didn’t stay
Why she had to break my heart that day
To make me worry forevermore
Worry that she may not come back from this war…
