Elliot awoke, looking upward, expecting to see the familiar leaves of the forest. Instead, he saw the gray of a cave. He looked around, surprised. Hadn’t he collapsed in the Forest of Dreams?
“The boy’s awake!” Called a singsong voice.
He turned to see an inhuman figure drifting towards him. It looked feminine, having leaf green skin with big, dark blue eyes, no nose, and a kind smile.
The she-creature had a plant-like dress, green with the veins of a plant leaf that covered her feet, making it look like she was held afloat by the dress itself. The dress had long sleeves also patterned with the veins of a plant leaf. The sleeves were long enough just to show her hands. Lastly, she wore a giant mushroom cap, covering her head, and leaves flowed down her shoulders like hair.
Elliot panicked. A plant lady? What?! Elliot stared at her, going through her features again and again.
“How wonderful!” called another voice.
This time a plump lady, looking normal except for her light blue hair, really light blue skin, and dark blue dress came through a doorway in the cave.
The blue lady had a necklace around her neck, seemingly strung with coral, and at the middle a pendant with a little blue water droplet outlined with gold. Her eyes were a dark brown, and she also had a kind smile.
“W-what? Who are you guys?” Elliot braced himself, thinking he was going to be killed.
“Oh, little boy! Haven’t you heard of us? We’re two of the five mages of Eoqonoris!” said the plant lady.
“Don’t be silly, Camellia! If we were heard of, the Dark King would have his servants on us in seconds!” exclaimed the water lady.
“Oh, well well well, Anahita! You and your loud mouth would’ve revealed us long ago if it weren’t for Agni and his quick reflexes!” yelled the plant lady, supposedly named Camellia.
“Umm… I’m right here…” Elliot interrupted.
“Oh, of course! Well, I’m Camellia, the plant mage, and the loud mouth here is Anahita, the water mage! You’ll meet the other mages soon!”
“I am NOT a loud mouth!”
“Well, anyways, ignore Anahita, I’ll introduce you to the other three later. For now, I’ll explain why I brought you here.” said Camellia.
“Hey, I helped too!” Anahita said.
“I’ll explain why we brought you here.” Camellia said through her teeth.
