The Daughter of Balance: The Tale of Princess Yue (Book Two: The Search Begins)

By @Eeveelover34

Chapter Five

If there was one thing Katara knew about, it was that when she found herself with child, Zuko would not leave any books about parenting on a table unread for more than five seconds and that she wouldn’t be alone unguarded for the same amount of time. She was so excited, she could barely contain herself. When Toph and Suki found out, they ricocheted all over the room! When Sokka found out… well, let’s just say you’ve never seen him cry so much tears of joy in his life. When Aang found out, he was probably the most contained about it. When her two-year-old nephew, Tonraq, found out, he didn’t know what to do. He was only a two-year-old after all. Toph and Aang had gotten married just last week, They didn’t know whether or not to maybe expect a child, bu they were thinking about it. Katara asked Suki for advice, she said, “Try not to bug your husband about any strange cravings!” She had a point. Just the other day, she stared craving papaya. She hated papaya! So, that was a one-time thing. But her favorite thing about it all, she could pass down her mother’s necklace to their child. It wouldn’t have to sit in a deep, dark box anymore. It would be in their first-born child’s possession. “One day, this child might be the most powerful bender in the world,” she said, rubbing her stomach. “Indeed,” said Iroh. “Your baby is going to be spoiled.” Wasn’t that the truth. No. No, it wasn’t.
