Into The Woods

Rain trickled from the sky. Patches of dirt turned to mud in seconds.

Anya ran and ran. “It’s not fair!” She screamed.

Tears streamed down her face.

“Please, oh please! Don’t make him marry me!” She prayed to the full moon.

Anya thumped down onto a log.

Her beautiful white lace dress dripped from the ends with mud.

It’s going to be terrible. The dinner tonight is going to be terrible. Anya thought.

Anya screamed as loud as she possibly could. “Why?!” She yelled.

A shadow flinched in the distance. “Who’s there?” She called out. It began running towards her. Anya shrieked and began running away. The princess tripped on her dress and fell flat on her chest. Mud splattered onto her face, and inside her dress. Her white dress went from being magnificent to being brown in two seconds.

Standing up, Anya gasped. The footsteps were nearing.

Thud Thud Thud.

Maybe this is it! Maybe, this person is trying to kill me. I’ll die and never have to marry him. Anya thought.

Anya felt someone’s arms wrap around her. She turned and saw, Antoine.

He lifted her, regardless of the mud dripping from her dress, and carried her in the baby position.

Antoine then bent down and kissed her forehead.

“Antoine put me down!” She yelled.

“It’s okay, shh.” He soothed.

Anya shuddered. Antoine must have felt her, because he took off his rain-covered sweater, and wrapped it around her.

Maybe I’ll find a way to love him. Anya thought. I hate him and all, but he is sweet.

Anya closed her eyes.
