Skeletons

By @noceurx

Skeletons

(i)

At the end of the road,

there is nothing;

not even death.

You are but hollowed out bones.

You are hollow but so very

heavy.

(ii)

That is what human bones

tend to be.

They are hollow and heavy

with the weight of unfulfilled promises and

a life thoroughly wasted.

(iii)

If that is indeed

how the world works

you think that perhaps

the endless void

is well deserved,

and as it engulfs you,

you think again:

Perhaps,

we are dead

long before

we actually

die.

(iv)

You vanish.
