Dylan touches my hand. He tells me it will be okay. Right as our feet get drenched with the cold San Francisco Bay water. We try once more to loosen our seatbelts, but nothing helps. Then water is up to our waists. I hesitate for a moment then I yell “Help!” One to many times. I start to gasp for air. Water is almost to my neck. Dylan struggles with opening the sunroof. Stupid I think, Who would be on the road at 2 in the morning? I get my seatbelt to move a little bit, so I can fit my legs through. Dylan copies what I did and we both get free. “How are we going to get this open?” He asks while the water rises faster. “Kick.” I say. The water is about to go over our heads. I go under the water and start kicking the sunroof. Is it plastic? I question myself. My vision gets blurry.
