As soon as I took a sip, I realized it was poison. Poison for my head, my heart. It dripped down my throat and stuck there, burning my body from the inside out. And then it was too late. One sip is all it took. All it took to corrupt my very being into a monster.
Take a sip of greed, take a sip of arrogance. Take a sip of envy. We’ll all go down together. When you see them sitting there in their jewel-encrusted goblets, those seemingly little things we call vices, they look wonderful don’t they? All charm and alluring glints of what appears to be light. The shining liquid inviting you to quench your thirst. Oh, how deceiving it all is. Learn from my mistakes. Because I did not, could not truly grasp what was around the bend of this progressively darkening path.
Because you think it’s just one sip, what harm could it do? Oh, my friend, my poor unknowing friend who is gasping for a taste from those god-forsaken goblets. How doomed we all are. Because you won’t take my advice. No, because you’re thinking to yourself right now that you’ll be the exception, that you can keep your sanity and virtue while pursuing these dark passions. But, my dear, that’s what we all think. Every last one of us. But, go ahead! Be my guest! Pick your poison. No one’s stopping you.
