Once there was a woman, she was a Librarian. She loved books so much. She loved the smell of them, the feeling of the pages between her fingers, and the adventures that each story took her on, as well as the worlds she got to visit.
One day, she was re-shelving some books and she noticed that some books had been mistreated. Their spines were practically falling off, their pages were stuck together, some books even had mildew damage.
The librarian quickly looked up someone who could heat all of her sick and injured books. He was able to come the very next day to take a look at the books. He introduced himself as the Book Doctor. The Book Doctor told the Librarian that it would take months to heal every book, but he was up to the task.
As the days went on, the Book Doctor went to the library every day where the Librarian would peek at his work, bring him a sandwich or coffee, and talk to him when she didn’t have any work to do herself.
Days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months, the Book Doctor’s job was almost complete. The day that the Book Doctor would be leaving the library was drawing near and the Librarian couldn’t bear to watch him walk out the doors forever, but she didn’t know what to do.
Finally, the day came, and the Librarian watched as the Book Doctor walked out of the library forever. The next day, the Librarian was standing at the desk checking in all the books that were returned when… Someone slid a cup of coffee towards her. The Librarian looked up and the Book Doctor was standing in front of her, smiling.
