Chapter 1: The Beginnings of a Monster
It was almost finished. All I needed was one more element. Gold. Neither rare nor cheap, but valued only for its beauty. Gold. It had so many scientific possibilities as well as bribing opportunities. Opportunities which i would take full advantage of, when, and only when i was finished. I took the delicate gold flakes from the petri dish in which they were resting in with tweezers. I then examined it in the cold, sterile, white light before watching them flutter down into a beaker of dark fluid, and disappear into its murky depths.
The next step was the hardest. I had to drink this god-forsaken concoction. As I lifted the warm beaker to my lips, my gut wrenched and I hesitated. Was this the best option? My mind flashed back to a moment from long ago. A memory of two bodies laying on a carpet stained with blood. Yes. This was the only option. I had nothing to lose anyway.
