About The Author
PETER H. WOOD, who was born in St. Louis in 1943, spent two years at Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar and received his Ph.D. from Harvard in 1972. He is currently Assistant Director for Humanities at the Rockefeller Foundation in New York City.
