Peter Brazaitis

About The Author

Peter Brazaitis was born in Brooklyn and went to work at the Bronx Zoo directly out of high school in 1954. He remained there for more than 30 years and eventually became head snake keeper. Brazaitis was named curator of New York's Central Park Zoo when it reopened in 1988. Now retired, he lives with his wife, an animal behaviorist, in Harwinton, Connecticut.
