       According to Statistics About ***ual Violence(SASV) about one in five women get raped while one in 71 men will get raped during their lifetime in the US. It’s sad, but rape is the least reported crime, 63% of rape victims won’t come forward, whether it’s because of fear, embarrassment or something else, we may never know.

SASV states that eight in 10 rapes, the victim actually knew the one who raped them. 8% of rapes occur at the victim’s work.

       When you hear about a rape, usually the victim is a female. While this is normally the case, it doesn’t mean that men don’t get raped as well. 

For men, they’re told that it isn’t rape or that they should man up. In some cases, they’re even congratulated on getting raped.

THIS IS NOT TRUE AND SHOULD NOT BE SOMETHING TO BE CONGRATULATED ON!

Men can and do get raped. This does not mean that they need to man up.

I believe that most men don’t come forward because of how people react when they tell someone.

       When women get raped, it seems as though they’re the ones that get blamed.

They say it’s because the women were wearing showy clothing. They say it’s because the women sleep around. They say it’s because they were intoxicated. They say it’s because the women were asking for it.

Not all women that get raped were wearing showy or flashy clothing at the time of the rape, the woman could be wearing pants and a T-shirt and still get raped. If women get raped because the like to sleep around, then why do virgins get raped too? If women get raped because they were drinking alcohol, then why do nonintoxicating women get raped? If the women were really asking for it, then it wouldn’t be rape, it would be consensual ***.

           There is rape and then there is consensual *** between two people 17 or older. There is no in between. So stop frowning at the victims of rape and blaming them and start blaming the rapist who is actually at fault.
