The smoke blew up
Down south
From Kansas,
Encasing us
In a fog
Of seared trees
And burned limbs,
Making us uncertain
Of today
As the sun set fire,
A bright red orb,
To the smoke
That blew,
Making it hard to breathe
As the air, once clear
Now turned grey
From the anger of fire
To the sadness of no rain
