The Dragon of No Shape(Updated)

Prologue

Darkness. That was the first thing the dragonet knew. It was black and cramped, and she lashed out to free herself of her inky prison. Soon enough the shell around her broke and the newborn was released as she tumbled out of her egg. She was a deep shade of green, her scales shimmering in the new-found sunlight. She had a flexible, silver crest lining her spine from the tip of her tale to the center of her forehead, and white stubby horns above her ears. The underside of her wings and body was shifting different colors at random, mostly multiple colors at once swirling around and mixing together on her scales. When she opened her eyes, they were a beautiful ocean blue, with silver flecks in them. She was truly a magnificent dragon. But there was something wrong – she was alone. There weren’t other dragons around for miles, for she had hatched in the Toxin Jungle; a terrifying place where strange beasts roamed, out to kill, and the plants would swallow you whole. Anyone who entered, was never seen again. The young dragonet cried out, calling for someone, anyone, to help her. She was hungry, and had no idea how to survive on her own. She was not doomed, however. No, she was part of a prophecy to save the whole of dragon species from their cold-hearted Alpha, Iejir. Iejir was named for his merciless conquering of our kingdom, leaving the past Alpha dead as the whole of dragon species watched in horror. For Iejir was the Draconic word for blood. As the young dragonet called out, she was beginning to fall asleep. As she drifted off, a single word resonated through her head: Emerald.
