Dinnertime

Francis, the chef, brought a silver platter in. A turkey lay on it. “Mmm! Looks so delicious!” Lyan smiled. “Oh yes, Francis here makes the best of foods.” Mother said, rubbing her hands together. “Caroline, your family is so sweet!” Lyan touched her hand to Mother’s shoulder. “Oh, thanks!” Mother giggled. Francis went back into the kitchen and came back with another tray. This time, a yummy-looking lobster was splayed out, with a delicious salad around it.

After half an hour, the guests began leaving. “We were wondering… could Antoine stay over tonight?” Lyan tilted her head slightly. “Of course! He can stay in the guest-” Mother was cut off. “He can stay in Anya’s room,” Father said. Anya shivered. Antoine looked at her. “Are you okay? Your face is red.” Antoine asked. Anya shivered again. “Yeah, I’m fine. I think I’ll just… I’ll go to bed early.” Anya smiled and waved goodbye to the guests.

The princess raced up the staircase, she then tripped on her heels. “Ow!” She cried out. “Anya? Are you okay?” Antoine ran up the stairs. “Yes, I just tripped.” She took her heels off. “I’m okay. I promise.” Anya kissed his cheek and then continued going up the stairs. “Okay…” Antoine turned around and left. Anya ran through the corridor. And then up another flight of stairs. Then, through the next hallway, and down a small corridor. Anya swung open the door to her bedroom.

Pulling off her dress, she put her pyjamas on.

Anya began crying.
