Tell Me What's a Hero

There’s something in the sky

Something in the stars

Something glorious inside

But still tears us apart

I can’t quite explain

The words I choose to use

Come out like startled violence

But somehow I never lose

I can’t help what I do

Break all my pieces away

A gift to all that need it

Hope it will make them stay

I have a savior complex

Throwing myself into the fray

But tell me what’s a hero

That can’t make those people stay
