Soulmates

I know

you’re going to marry him one day.

I may be over-romanticizing it,

but, after all, I am a romantic

you’d think it would be more painful

knowing your soulmate has found theirs

but after all, your happiness is my own

and my friendship is always genuine

I know there are more soulmates out there

but you’re the first

not my first love, but my first soulmate

even if breaking up with her hurt more

you left more of an impact

for I know, we are meant to be in each other’s lives

two comets blazing through the sky

I keep this silent truth to mysef

I know I don’t need to say it.

You’ve ruined me for the mundane,

because you are the extraordinary

it will be hard to find someone like you

but so unlike you

so unique like you

but not impossible.

However,

a voice in the back of my head says,

maybe I don’t know,

maybe we’ll get another chance.

The outcome doesn’t matter,

as long as we blaze through this life together,

and find happiness along the way.

I wanna see the great life you’re going to lead, because if it’s anything like it’s been so far, it’ll be far more valuable than any gift I could ever receive

“Forever and ever, hopefully.”
