On The Shore (part1)

Chapter 1

I never thought after all we’ve been through we’d be here.

Daisy Johnston was standing there with her friend’s mother. They were at Myrtle beach. It was early morning so it wasn’t packed at all.

“Are you ready?” his mother asked.

“No, but there’s nothing I could do,” Daisy sighed.

A few months back, it was summertime.

Daisy Johnston was soaking in the sun before her textbooks, exams and assignments would rule her life once again. It was the last day of her vacation. She was in a bikini. She wore sunglasses over her eyes and she was laying on a towel.

I’m gonna miss this.

“Daisy?” she heard.

It was crowded that day so it was impossible for Daisy to figure out who was calling her. She looked around for a familiar face.

It was then when she really it was a familiar face that was calling her and she smiled when she saw that it was Jeremiah and he was calling her. She picked up the phone and answered the call.

Where could he be? I don’t see him. He can see me.

“Hi, stranger,” she continued to look around.

“Hi, stranger,” he laughed.

“Are you laughing at me Jeremiah Michael Adams?” she huffed.

“Full names really Daisy Josie Johnston?” he teased.

“Where are you?” she asked.

“I’m here, I’m near the boardwalk,” he said.

He hung up.

Daisy hung up her phone and gathered her belongings.

Jeremiah waited for Daisy by the boardwalk.

I haven’t seen Daisy since our high school graduation. Is she still the same sassy but quiet girl I knew? I wonder what she’s been up to?

Daisy hugged Jeremiah when she got to the boardwalk.

“Long time no see,” he said.

“I know,” she said.

“What are you doing at Myrtle Beach?” he asked.

“Enjoying my last day before I go back to school,” she responded.

“What do you go to school for?” he asked.

“Art,” she smiled.

It seems that she’s doing what she loves, and that’s a great thing. It makes me so happy to see her happy.

“What have you been doing since we’ve graduated?” she asked.

“Well, I had random jobs at first, but now I decided to join the army,” he said.

“That’s incredible,” she punched his arm, jokingly.

“Thanks,” he did the same back.

“Do you have anything you can show me that you’ve drawn?” he asked.

“My brain is FRIED!” she sighed.

“All you need is some inspiration,” he suggested.

“Yeah,” she said.

“Are you hungry?” he asked.

“I could go for an ice cream right about now,” she said.

“Me too,” he said.

The friends spent the next hour just chatting and laughing.
