My World

” My Struggle”

If I thought the world had ended,

I was wrong.

I had been trapped in my mind,

for so long.

Only the battle between my illness,

and my soul rages on.

Trapped in the corner,

wishing for it to go away.

I would do anything,

bribe, beg, and persuade.

To the menace lurking in the shadows,

I say:

“Oh, why won’t you go away?

I will do anything to lead you astray!

Why must you torment my thoughts,

throughout each night and day?

I have done nothing wrong,

to deserve this pain!”

I wake up,

at last, I am finally free!

This pain deep in my soul,

is no longer with me.

Doctors hover above my face,

relief washes over me.

No longer will I suffer

from this monstrosity.

If I thought the world had ended,

I was wrong.

I had been trapped in my mind,

for so long.

Only this time, the battle between my illness,

and my soul no longer rages on.
