Comment any requests for grammar rules and topics, and I'll respond to you and update the guide with a chapter on that rule! Thank you so much!

Chapter 1

Welcome!

Hello!

For those of you who don’t know me yet, I’m Alanna, or CollisionOfFates. (I also have a book on Underlined by this name.) Over the years, I’ve been noticing several mistakes that writers- young and old- make a lot. While grammar may not seem like it’s very important (notice how I used the word ‘it’s’ and not ‘its’), it can actually make a world of difference in your writing. It provides realism, allows for readers to enjoy your work more, and also looks really good on essays. In this informative piece of writing, I’ll be pointing these common mistakes out and diving into the ‘dos’, ‘don’ts’, ‘hows’ and ‘whys’ of grammar. I’m also willing to answer any questions that you have! Just post it in the comments and I’ll get back to you ASAP (usually, this is under 24 hours)!

Happy Writing!

It really bothers me when people make grammar mistakes, so thanks for pointing this out, CollisionOfFates!

Hi CollisionOfFates! It’s me, aye_its_alana3 from Storybird. I just wanted to let you know that I have made an account. Hence, the aye_its_alana3, lol. I have the same as I did on Storybird, username as you can see. I just wanted to say thank you for telling me and introducing me to this website because I’m already obsessed with it and I love it a lot. It’s really fun, so thank you! I’ve checked out some of your writing projects on here, but I plan to check out the rest soon. Great job on everything I’ve seen so far. You are very talented! Thanks again and talk to you soon!

P.S. I posted a comment on Storybird basically telling you the same thing, but it keeps disappearing for some reason and I wasn’t sure if you saw the comment, so I just decided to comment on here as well, so whenever you see this is fine and if you don’t see it, then oh well, whatever. Anyway, I have a couple writing projects in the making on here, so if you want, you can check them out too. Okay, bye, sorry for the long comment.

Heyy!! That’s awesome! I’m glad you’re enjoying it! I think it’s funny that we practically have the same name, ha ha. And thank you so much for the encouragement!!

(Note: I didn’t see the comment on StoryBird but I’m glad you posted it here! Thanks!)
I will definitely check them out! No problem, I actually love long comments 😀

I know right! I was thinking the same thing. That’s so cool! I was like what are the chances…I was like “Ohmygosh! We have like almost the same name!” Do you pronounce it [uh]-[lan]-[uh] or [uh]-[laa]-[nuh]? Or would you rather not say, don’t feel like you have to. I was just curious. And it’s also okay if you don’t understand what I meant. LOL I was trying to explain the two different pronunciations, but it may have been kind of confusing.

And you’re so welcome! You deserve it!

Okay, that’s funny. I don’t understand why, but yeah the comments aren’t going through to you for some reason. Every time I post a comment, I go back to it later and it’s gone, but whenever I make a comment to anyone else, it goes through no problem, so I don’t know. Whatever, I’ll just talk to you on here, then.

Okay, thanks. That’s good to know. P.S. This one is kind of long too, lol.

        See you around!

I’m so sorry for the late response AGAIN, agh!
Ahhh, I’m not sure how to describe it. I say it like more like ‘ah’ than ‘uh’, I guess, if that makes sense, but it sounds like ‘uh’ as well. It’s not ‘lan’ as in ‘can’; it’s ‘laa’ as in do re mi fa so LA ti do… Lol, I don’t know if that makes sense, but yeah!
Thank you!! That means a lot… *Casually hugs through screen* Lol!
Huh, weird! I’m not sure why. Maybe SB is having some bugs.

Anyways, can’t wait to see you around Underlined! I’ll be reading your work now, ha ha!
          -*Alanna* 🙂

I have noticed so many grammar errors, some of which were from books in the library. I am so glad you made this, because now I can double-check my grammar as well.
