Eternally Alone

‘Immortality isn’t living forever. That’s not what it feels like. Immortality is everyone else dying.’

Britain, 806 AD

Today I should have died. But I didn’t. I don’t know what happened. I just remember deep, inky black, and being pulled back to the light. No one in this village will tell me what happened. They’re not scared of me, I don’t think. They just don’t want to tell me.

That night we had a huge celebration. A large feast, music, and dancing. I enjoyed myself so much then. I wish I did now.
