Chapter 1
Stair Sledding
She sits at the top of the stairs
wrapped in a purple and pink sleeping bag.
She smiles at her sister.
The cue is given.
With a shove, she pulls
the blanket close.
Thump, thump, thump.
She goes down the stairs.
Gaining speed until she is splayed
on her face.
Her sister waits at the top.
She pops up.
Grabbing the bag, she scurries back.
Then her sister goes down.
This game, a repetitive way
of shoving and falling.
The only way the girls can
get away with mischief.
