Chapter 1: Trying (part 1)
‘Another day, Another dread filled week,’ I thought as I swung my legs over the side of my bed and turned on my lamp. I read the time on my clock. ‘6:30, How funny.’ TINK TINK. Rocks kept hitting the window. I get up and walk to the window and see the one and only. Asher. I open the window to find him in the same leather jacket his father gave him before he died. “Hello, How is my beautiful queen doing?” he said with a laugh. “Oh please I’m not a queen and certainly not yours,” I said smiling. “Well lets enjoy this fine sunset together. Shall we?” he bowed. I ran my short jet black hair through my finger pulling some back. “Please my sweet Maisie,” he said as he batted his eyes with that puppy dog face. I nodded with a small smile dancing on my lips. I then close the window to throw on clothes. I threw on my black ripped skinny jeans alone with my striped shirt and a jean jacket. I slipped on my converse grabbed my phone and ran down the stairs out the door.
As soon as outside I was met with green blue eyes staring into my gray ones. “I wonder how your still not mine,” Asher said as he wrapped his arm around my waist. “I told you I have never been in a relationship before so I don’t know who stuff works,” I said as we walked across my lawn down the side walk. “And I told you that I can help you with that,” he said as ruffled my hair. I giggled and looked up at him and we stopped to face each other. “What am I suppose to do to make you fall in love with me?” he asked as he put his hand under my chin and pulled my face closer to his. I felt my face heat up and pulled away.
“I-it’s too soon,”
“Ugh. Come on Blue! You know that I love you and I have since we were little,”
Blue. That was the nickname he gave me cause I always took the blues away.
“I have a deal,”
“If I give you one week to show me that you are the one and only for me then I will give you a chance,”
We both shook hands, but he pulled me into a hug. I hugged back and we stayed like that for a little bit. After we pulled away he put both hands on my shoulders and looked me straight in the eye. “We are going to a party this Friday,” he said. I rapidly shook my head. “No no no-,” he cut me off. “Yes we are. You need to get out of that house,” he said. Threw my head back and groaned. “Fine as long as you don’t get drunk and you stay with me through the whole thing,” I said. “Yes of course my beautiful princess,” he said as he picked my up and spun me around.
“We should get going or else we are gonna be late,” I said as soon as he put me down. “He looked at the time on his phone. “It’s barley seven fifteen you goof,” he said. I looked at him with puppy dog eyes. “Alright, but you can’t bail out on that party.
About fifteen more minutes passed before we got to school. As soon as me entered through the doors. Harper ran up to Asher and hugged him. “Hey I was wondering if you wanted to hang out tonight?” she asked as she traced her finger down his chest slowly and licking her lips. “Harper, I told you this before I don’t want to,” Asher said as she pushed her away. “It’s all because of her huh!” she said loudly. “She’s the one who has you wrapped around her little finger,” she continued as she pushed me. I fell to the ground and hit my head. Asher pushed her away from me and rushed to my side. “Are you okay?” he asked. I sat up and said nothing. Instead I just stood up and walked away. I could hear footsteps coming towards me quickly. Asher stood in front of me and looked at me. “Are you okay?” he asked. I nodded. “Yeah probably just a bruise on my head,” I said. Asher knows that I don’t speak in front of Harper. I don’t hate her, but she hates me and I don’t know why. Asher smiled at me grabbing my hand pulling us to class. DING! ‘7:45 already.’
