The Kakiwasha tribe was a tribe that lived in the coldest part of the world. On large frozen over land with harsh winters and horrible storms. Well, food the intruders anyway. The Kakiwasha tribe lived in sweet bliss, but that was because of the gift the gods had given them centuries ago. You see,Long ago when their tribe was just starting out, they worshiped the gods like it was their last breath everyday, They protected the things that the gods liked and hunted the things that would be considered unlawful. The god of the water, Nushka, noticed this effort and blessed the next generation of babies with a gift to control water and its side attributes. But it came with a price. The tribe had to live under complete isolation and kill anyone who tried to enter. It didn’t seem that bad till other tribes tried to inhabit the land. The elders decided to create an ice dome around the bottom of the land so if anyone stepped onto the land they would be notified and the soldiers of the clan would bend up a storm.
There were few laws within the tribe. But the most enforced law was with Blood benders. Blood benders began to show up a couple hundred years after the first water benders were created. It was easy to find water benders because each one would be born with black hair and red eyes despite genetics. The red eyes were things every tribal doctor would look for in newborns so they wouldn’t have any of them breeding or just growing up in general. Many women found it a terrible rule but they never said anything in fear of being exiled.
Then there was Mary, a woman who didn’t make it to the hospital and had one of these children. In fear of losing her baby, she fled to an island all the way across the world. It took her a few years, but by the time her child, Ira, was three, they had settled down at the foot of Kasho mountain. She lived in a small tree house that would only be accessed if they made ice stairs. They spent a few months there, until a family of assassins found out about their existence. The two parents, Silva and Montimui, grew an interest in the woman and they became family friends. Ira became good friends with one of the brothers of the family. His name was Akisho, but Ira called him Aki. Aki and Ira were attached at the hip. Sometimes it got in the way of Aki’s training but he never really cared. His older brothers however despite the fact the Aki got out of training because some superpowered boy decided to befriend him. When Ira turend 5 they two of them began training together.
They spent two years training together until the tribe found them. Mary relocated them to another island called okinawa. Mary tried to explain to Ira why they left in a way that wouldn’t reveal his abilities but it failed. Ira spent the next four years training his ability on the forest animals they would use for dinner and he got decently good at it. He couldn’t control it well and if he got frustrated the animal would just explode.
It was his 12th birthday when everything went down the rabbit hole. The tribe found them again but this time they sent amazingly trained benders. Mary told Ira to go back to Kasho mountain and tell them the truth about why they left. Ira did as she said reluctantly and ran to the shore line where he made a little ice boat and quickly left the island. After 6 months of near starvation, death, dehydration, and attempted kidnapping he finally found his way to the mountain. As soon as he got there he got his energy back at the nostalgia. He ran up the side of the mountain and to the mansion where a few new butlers were perched outside.
” Who are you?” One of them asked holding up a staph and pointing it at him. Ira gave them a smile and then iced their feet,” No time for chit chat gotta run,” he yelled jumping over the two people and running into the mansion. He dodged everyone of the servants and butlers that tried to catch him till he got to the training hall. He burst through the doors and then tackled Aki to the ground,” Ira?” Aki and his father asked,” Chased…killed…food,” He muttered before passing out on his friend’s chest. Aki looked up at his father and they shared a worried look.
A few days later Ira woke up and told the family what happened. Everything from his power to the tribal members chasing him. The family was surprised to say the least. I mean finding out one of the most cheerful people they know could commit mass murder with a flick of his wirst was intimadating. Nonetheless, Montimui helped Ira learn how to control it. He also exploited it. Used it to get some of the assassination jobs done. Aki hated the fact his best friend was being used but it wasn’t like he could do anything about it. His family would have his head on a stick if he disobeyed or spoke out of turn. Until he finally had enough. He stabbed his mother and slashed his brother in the face before taking Ira and running off to whale island where they were going to hide out for a bit.
That’s where they met Tomu. A boy the same age as them had been living on the island with his grandmother because his father abandoned him to be an explorer. Tomu didn’t mind it though. In fact he expressed it by telling his two new friends that he wanted to be one just to see why his father found it so much more important than his own child. Ira just cringed and felt bad for Tomu while Aki supported it. The three boys started to plan a way to the runway so that Tomu could find his father and explore places on the way. Tomu felt bad about leaving his grandmother without her knowing but he was just so invested in finding out the reason his father left that he didn’t care too much. The three boys snuck onto a ship and their journey started. Little did they know the men that were after Ira were right on their tails.
