A Deer’s Perspective

By @tesshaiku

Mother always told me

Do not

Go into the

Light.

That’s how Father

Died.

Mother never left without saying

Goodbye.

Never

Came back without

Greeting me.

Mother never

Went into the

Light.

Yet,

She’s gone.

She left without saying

Goodbye.

She never came back.

The day she never came back

There was

A

Loud

BANG!

That echoed

Through the

Forrest,

And I knew that

Mother was gone.

The next day

I was out looking for

Something to eat because

I knew

Mother was

Gone.

She never came back

That night.

I ventured until

I found

A long,

Rock solid,

Grey

Path.

I turned back

Deciding,

That’s where the

Light comes from.

Yet,

I still want to go back to the

Grey Path.

Later tonight

Go back to the

Grey Path.

I notice some rich,

Green

Shrubs on the

Other side.

I decide that

The shrubs would make

A great dinner.

I started across the

Grey Path.

Soon enough, and

I’m on the

Other Side.

I start eating

The shrubs.

I finish eating

The shrubs.

I start back across the

Grey Path.

I hear a noise come up

Behind me.

I turn and see

Two

Bright

Lights.

I stand there

Mesmerized

At the sight of  them.

There’s a faint

Honking coming from the

Two Lights.

I ignore it as I

Just stand there.

Suddenly I

Am jump scared when

Something hits me.

I take a deep breath.

AND. . . .

I’m in

A

Better

Place.
