\”Mummy? Aren’t you coming with me? Why did you stop?” Delilah Jackson asked, looking up at her Mum, fidgeting with the hem of her shirt.
She was standing next to her mother, staring a platform 10 in front of her.
Seraphina Jackson is the mother of Delilah. Sera, as she likes to be called, is a 33 year old woman, who is a doctor.
“No, sweetie. I’m not like you.” Seraphina squatted down to her daughter’s height. She fixed Delilah’s coat while talking. “I’m just a normal person. But you,” She said, grabbing a hold of both the girl’s hands. “Are special, so you need to go to a school with other amazing special children.”
“Excuse me?” A woman’s voice said from behind them. “Are you going to Platform 9 ¾ too?”
This woman had dark brown hair, and fair white skin. A girl stood next to the woman, taller than Delilah, who had messy dirty blonde hair that was more brown. She had brown eyes and big front teeth.
“Hi! I’m Hermione Granger. And you are?”
“I’m Delilah Jackson. It’s a pleasure to meet you.” he curly haired girl says to the Hermione.
“Well, we better get going to the train. Just come with me.” Hermione grabbed the Delilah’s hand.
“Bye Mummy! ” Delilah says, quickly hugging her mother goodbye, rushing after Hermione.

Hermione stopped at a wall between Platform 9 and 10. “This is it.”
“This is a wall.” Delilah said in disbelief. “Hermione, are you daft?”
“We just need to go through it. I read it in ‘Hogwarts: A History.'”
“Do you read a lot?” Delilah walked up to the wall putting her hand on it. “See… Whatever they told you is nons–” But she didn’t get to finish that sentence as she went through the wall.
On the other side, was a beautiful sight. A scarlet steam engine was waiting next to a platform packed with people. A sign overhead said Hogwarts Express, eleven O’clock.
She looked all around her as Hermione came through the barrier. As she looked she could see nervous students, obviously going into their first year, and elder students going for their last.

The duo of girls quickly boarded the Hogwarts Express. Hermione and Delilah found a small compartment for themselves. Sitting down, the two girls fiddled with their belongings in an awkward silence.
“What house are you hoping to get into?” Hermione asked eagerly.
“You really didn’t read any of the curriculum this year?”
Delilah started biting her lip anxiously. “Were we supposed to?” she said softly.
“No, but it’s good to get ahe– You’re nervous aren’t you? What’s wrong?”
“I haven’t been away from my mother for this long.” And she hasn’t. At the age of five years old, her father left them without a trace. This made Delilah grow up with traits that only a mother would have, such as loyalty, trustworthiness, honesty, bravery, and courage. Her mother rarely let her out of the house, except to her neighbor, Dean Thomas’ house, and of course, school.
“I’m sure you can still talk to her with owls.” Hermione grabs the girl’s hands just like she saw her mother did. “Plus you have me. And even if you end up in Slytherin, the rumored evil house, I will still be your friend.”
There was a tapping at the door of their compartment. There stood a boy in a tan vest, and khaki colored pants. He had green eyes and was fairly plump. “Sorry to interrupt,” he said, “but have you seen a toad at all?”
“No, we haven’t. But I’m sure we could help you look.” Delilah said to the boy with a smile. “I’m Delilah Jackson, by the way.”
“And I’m Hermione Granger.”
“I’m Neville Longbottom.” He introduced himself. “I already asked the front part of the train. We just need to do the back.”
“Will do, Neville.”

After asking about 15 compartments if they’ve seen a toad, there was still no luck. “How about this one?” Delilah asked, seeing a bright ginger boy and a dark brunette boy with piles of candy on their seats.
She knocked on the door, both boys turning to her. “Excuse me, but have you seen a toad? A boy named Neville’s lost one.”
“No, sorry.” The ginger boy said.
“Are you doing a spell? That’s so cool!” Delilah exclaimed, making the tips of the Ginger’s ears turn red in embarrassment.
“Let’s see it, then.” Hermione urged.
The two sat down and the Ginger boy looked taken aback. “Er– all right.” He cleared his throat. “Sunshine, daisies, butter mellow, turn this stupid, fat rat yellow.”
He waved his wand, but nothing happened. The rat stayed gray and fast asleep.
“Are you sure that’s a real spell?” inquired Hermione. “Well, it’s not very good, is it? I’ve tried a few simple spells just for practice and it’s all worked for me. Nobody in my family’s magic at all, it was ever such a surprise when I got my letter, but I was ever so pleased. Of course, I mean, it’s the very best school of witchcraft there is, I’ve heard. I’ve learned all our course books by heart, of course, I just hope it will be enough. I’m Hermione Granger, by the way.”
“Hermione are you breathing?” Delilah questioned. “I’m Delilah Jackson. Who are you two?”
“I’m Ron Weasley,” Ron muttered.
“Harry Potter,” said Harry.
“Are you really?” blurted Hermione. “I know all about you, of course– I got a few extra books for background reading, and you’re in Modern Magical History and The Rise and Fall of the Dark Arts and Great Wizarding Events of the Twentieth Century.”
“Am I?” Harry questioned meekly.
“Goodness, didn’t you know, I’d have found out everything I could if it was me,” pointed out Hermione. “Do either of you know what house you’ll be in? I’ve been asking around, and I hope I’m in Gryffindor, it sounds by far the best; I hear Dumbledore himself was in it, but I suppose Ravenclaw wouldn’t be too bad… Delilah, here, doesn’t know either. Anyway, we’d better go and look for Neville’s toad. You two had better change, you know, I expect we’ll be there soon.” Hermione left the compartment.’
“Sorry for interfering. She’s actually pretty fun when you get to know her. See you at Hogwarts, Ron, Harry.” Delilah then left the compartment, looking for her friend.
