Some teens are fascinated with a single genre and continue to explore the same. While it is great for them to polish and learn, is it good for them to learn to write different emotions and contexts?

I’m confused by your question. Young writers can still learn to write emotions and “contexts” while writing in only one genre. I believe that, in a novel, characters should experience dozens of different emotions no matter what genre the book is in.

I’d say of course, as long as they are willing and or interested in it. You wouldn’t want them to get uninspired or frustrated with writing, only because what they are writing about is unimportant to them.
