John Green is a really good one. The Fault In Our Stars Still remains my favorite book of all time. He’s a big inspiration for me to. Very unique writing style.

Terry Pratchett is pretty good, as well, with the books I’ve read by him so far. He has a main series, a juvenile series based off of that, and other single books.
I’ve only read his juvenile series, the Tiffany Aching books a while back. It’s really good. I haven’t had time to read the main series yet but I’ve heard it’s really good.

Rick Riordan. I’ve read all of Heroes of Olympus and Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Am currently reading other things by him as well. He’s an amazing author and I have no doubt you’ve probably heard of him before.

Shannon Messenger. Keeper of the Lost Cities is a really interesting YA book series, but be warned: it’s long and complicated. But the characters and world are very intriguing, which is something I feel like is incredibly necessary in a book.

Soman Chainani. He’s written the School for Good and Evil, and also has a stand alone book called Beasts and Beauty. He writes fractured fairy tales, and has amazing characters as well as wonderful comedy in all his books.

Suzanne Collins is good. I read Hunger Games annually.

The Seven Realms series by Cinda Williams Chima. The plot isn’t great, but the characters and world are great.

Skullduggery Pleasant by Derek Landy. Humorous and good plot, along with colorful characters.

I have more, but won’t put them here because this is already a long list lol.

    Hey!
I’m new to reading so doesn’t know a lot of authors to categorise as my favourite. But I do seem to enjoy the works of Matt Haig, Agatha Christie and Lisa Jewell. All of their works are great.
