What was the first romance novel you read?
Either Shadowland by Meg Cabot or practically every book in the Dear America series. Technically, they were historical novels, but let’s be real, they always had a romance subplot!
What romance are you currently reading?
An Ocean Apart by Jill Tew—dystopian dating competition? Yes, please!
What are your favorite tropes?
Can I say all the tropes? I adore fake dating, golden retriever/black cat, and secret identity. Rivals is probably my favorite. I write it a lot. I love writing it so much that it’s in my new book, Reel Love, too!
Who’s your book crush?
Kaveh from the Scepter series by Anne Zoelle. Literally a death god in human form, Kaveh is the ultimate burn-the-world-for-you romantasy hero.
What inspires your writing?
So many things! My culture, history, and family. Reel Love has a lot of my grandparents woven into it, which makes the book extra special to me.
What’s your favorite part of writing romance?
It’s a tie! Brainstorming wacky ideas with my friends and writing messy meet-cutes!

“So, what would be your type?” Ethan asked, drawing out the o in so.
I snorted. “Nice try. You seem like the kind of guy who’d flirt with a light post if it were in front of you.”
“Nah,” Ethan said, suddenly very interested in the seam of his swim trunks again. I pursed my lips together and waited. “Can’t a guy ask his new friend about her life?”
“Again. We’re not friends.”
